Site Preparation, Video Surveys and Additional Charges
The customer is responsible for ensuring that the installation area is ready before the agreed installation date. This includes completing all required groundworks, foundations, drainage, access arrangements and supporting structures in accordance with the specifications provided by Blakesleys, unless Blakesleys has expressly agreed in writing to carry out those works.
To help identify potential problems before installation, Blakesleys offers a pre-installation video survey on request. Customers are strongly encouraged to request this survey if they are uncertain whether the site is suitably prepared or accessible.

A video survey can help identify visible concerns, but it cannot confirm concealed or below-ground conditions. It does not replace the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the site and any preparatory works are suitable for installation.
If Blakesleys reasonably determines that the installation cannot safely or properly proceed because the site is unsuitable or insufficiently prepared, the installation may be suspended or postponed until the problem has been corrected.
This may include, but is not limited to:
- incomplete, defective or unsuitable groundworks;
- incorrect ground levels or dimensions;
- inadequate foundations or supporting structures;
- hidden pipes, cables, obstructions or unstable ground;
- insufficient or unsafe access to the installation area; or
- other site conditions outside Blakesleys’ reasonable control.
Where installation is delayed, suspended or cannot proceed because of these circumstances, the customer will be responsible for the reasonable additional costs incurred by Blakesleys. These may include labour, travel, accommodation, plant or equipment hire, storage and return visits.
Additional installation-team charges may be applied at a rate of up to £750 plus VAT per installation team, per day. Blakesleys will take reasonable steps to minimise these costs and, where reasonably practicable, will explain the additional charges before further work is undertaken.

After your consultation, we’ll send a clear, fixed-price quote that covers everything required — no hidden extras or vague day rates. Where installation is included in the written quotation, Blakesleys coordinates the product supply and installation schedule through experienced installation teams.
Installation Is Available for Products Supplied by Blakesleys
Blakesleys offers installation only for veranda and pergola systems supplied by us. Installation covers only the work described in the written quotation. Groundworks, foundations, structural engineering, supporting steelwork, roof reinforcement and building alterations are excluded unless expressly included.
