What is synthetic rattan furniture?
Synthetic rattan is a weather-resistant material designed to look like natural rattan but withstand the British climate. Made from high-quality polyethene (PE) weave, it is UV-resistant and won’t rot like traditional rattan. We offer three weave styles: flat, fully rounded, and a mix of both.
Can I wash the cushion covers in a washing machine?
Yes, most cushion covers can be removed and machine-washed at 30°C. However, the CALIPSO, ENIGMA, EMMA, VELIA L/XL, and LIVIA L/XL sets have fixed cushion covers that cannot be machine-washed due to stitched buttons.
Are the cushions waterproof?
No, the cushions are water-resistant but not fully waterproof. We recommend storing them indoors when not in use to prevent damp and mildew.

Can I get a copy of my invoice?
Yes. You will receive an invoice by email once your order has been dispatched.
When will my furniture be delivered?
If in stock and paid for, orders are typically delivered within 5–7 working days.
Can I change or cancel my order?
If your order hasn’t yet been dispatched, we can cancel or amend it at no cost. If already sent to our warehouse or courier, standard return policies and collection charges will apply.
Does the furniture require assembly?
Most of our rattan furniture sets are delivered fully assembled. Where self-assembly is required, instructions are included.
How long will the furniture last?
Blakesleys rattan furniture is built to last, with a 2-year guarantee on frames and a 2-year warranty on the rattan weave for aluminium-frame models.
Does my furniture come with a guarantee?
Yes. Our aluminium-frame sets come with a 2-year rattan guarantee and a 2-year structural warranty. This covers manufacturing faults, not general wear and tear.
How do I care for my furniture?
- Vacuum loose dirt and dust
- Wipe with a damp cloth and warm water (no chemicals)
- Rinse with a hose or clear water
- Let dry outdoors in sunlight
Use weatherproof covers in winter. Do not store cushions under covers—this may cause mould. Store cushions indoors during wet or cold months.
Important Use Tips:
- Avoid glass objects that may magnify sunlight
- Always lift furniture to move – do not drag
- Use coasters/mats on tabletops
- Store in dry environments to prevent mould
Is the glass safe?
Yes. All glass tops are made from tempered glass, designed to shatter into small, rounded pieces if broken for safety.
Is the furniture easy to move?
Yes. Our aluminium frames make the sets lightweight and easy to reposition. Ideal for patios, conservatories, and garden rooms.
Can I return my furniture?
Yes, returns are accepted in line with our Returns Policy. Items must be unused, in original packaging, and returned within the stated period.
