Supply and Installation Scope

Blakesleys is a retailer and supplier of veranda, pergola and glass-room systems. Installation forms part of the contract only where it is expressly included in the written quotation. Installation may be carried out through experienced installation teams, including contractors acting on behalf of Blakesleys.

Where Blakesleys only introduces an independent installer and the customer contracts and pays that installer directly, the installer’s quotation and terms apply to that separate contract.

Excluded Work

Groundworks, foundations, drainage, structural engineering, supporting steelwork, roof reinforcement, electrical work and building alterations are excluded unless expressly included in the written quotation.

Customer Responsibilities

The customer must provide safe access and a safe, level and structurally suitable installation area, including suitable foundations, supporting structures and fixing points. The customer is responsible for the accuracy of information supplied about the site and for obtaining any permissions, approvals or structural calculations required for the project.

Structural Assessment

A quotation, video survey or ordinary site visit helps plan supply and installation but does not verify the load-bearing capacity of an existing building, roof, balcony, terrace, decking, foundation or fixing point. Blakesleys may require written calculations or approval from a suitably qualified structural engineer, particularly for elevated, exposed or commercial locations.

Unsafe or Unsuitable Sites

Blakesleys and its installers may postpone, suspend or refuse installation where the site, access, base, foundations, supporting structure, weather conditions or proposed fixing arrangement are considered unsafe or unsuitable. The customer may be responsible for reasonable costs caused by an unprepared or unsuitable site, including aborted visits, labour, travel, plant hire, storage and return visits, where those costs have been clearly explained and properly incurred.

Service Standards and Consumer Rights

Installation services purchased from Blakesleys will be performed with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts the customer’s statutory rights.
